Flatbed Trailers is defined as having the deck over the tires with no fenders. There are usually stake pockets and rub rail down the sides of the trailer.
Also referred to as a drop deck flatbed truck, a step deck truck adds versatility to a regular flat trailer by allowing for the transport of taller cargo.
The reefer, or refrigerated trailer, is a box trailer with a mechanical refrigeration unit that regulates its internal temperature. Many are equipped with lift gates.
An oversize load can be anything from an aircraft fuselage to a spool of cable to a multi-ton excavator. VSP Transport has moved them all.
Conestoga or Curtainside trailers have a sliding tarp design that covers your cargo without damage and allows access on three sides when opened.
Also called a “dry van trailer” or “box trailer,” dry vans can be used for a variety of less-than-truckload (LTL) or truckload shipment types.
In power only trucking, the driver does not bring a trailer, but instead hooks up to and hauls a trailer that is either leased or owned by a 3PL or shipper.
